In the beginning, Jim and I fell in love with the breed; individually and independently. Through Dobermans we met, married and formed a partnership, both in business and in life. Collectively we have been involved in Doberman activities including performance,
conformation and breeding for 90+ years.
Today, Cambria is a breeding program designed to produce superior-quality Dobermans both in body and mind. Committed to preserving the breed's original purpose of companion and guardian to man, we have likewise focused on the byproduct of beauty.
Our blueprint in our design is the Doberman Pinscher Club of America AKC breed "standard". In the opening paragraph it states, "The appearance is that of a dog that is of medium size, with a body that is square. Compactly built, muscular and
powerful, for great endurance and speed. Elegant in appearance, of proud carriage, reflecting great nobility and temperament. Energetic, watchful, determined, alert, fearless, loyal and obedient."
Bottom line at Cambria is to produce stunning, structurally correct animals with classic Doberman temperaments. However, our efforts would be in vain if we did not pay equal attention to good health. A stringent health-testing protocol is followed,
with particular attention to issues that commonly afflict the breed.
Good health, good looks and a good mind are all key in every breeding decision made at Cambria.
Our knowledge, years of experience, and passion for the breed have elevated Cambria to among the top producers of fine Doberman show dogs, breeding stock, performance animals and companions in the United States. Cambria's record speaks for itself.
We are humbled by the records that Cambria and Cambria-related dogs hold. Some achievements have been the direct result of our own blood, sweat and tears. However, many achievements are due to the hard work and dedication of owners, breeders, handlers and others involved with these exceptional animals. To those who have been a part of our success, we thank you.
